#1 issue: Navalmanack, Jio and Enterprise sales
Hey there 👋
Welcome to the first issue of my experiment in writing a newsletter, in which I share the cool links I came across this week.
If you’re enjoying the newsletter, share it with a friend. If this was forwarded to you, check out some previous issues and subscribe for future updates.
Articles I’ve loved
Erik Jorgenson is writing an Almanack (inspired by Poor Charlie's Almanack) about Naval Ravikant and I’m really looking forward to this one. I came across Naval since his podcast with Joe Rogan, and the signal vs noise ratio of his tweets is amazingly high.
Since I’ve joined a startup myself recently, I learnt a lot reading this bonus section from the Navalmanack.
Stratechery: Jio and the four internets
Ben Thompson never disappoints. The last 2 sentences struck a chord:
What differs Europe’s Internet from the U.S., Chinese, or Indian visions is, well, the lack of vision. Doing nothing more than continually saying “no” leads to a pale imitation of the status quo, where money matters more than innovation.
The Guide To Crushing Enterprise Sales (Notion)
Transitioning from a purely technical role to include some commercial work as well, this guide from Sarah Nöckel provided me with a list of interesting reads to catch-up with. Bookmark material!
Book I’m reading
When breath becomes air - Paul Kalanithi
At the age of thirty-six, on the verge of completing a decade’s worth of training as a neurosurgeon, Paul Kalanithi was diagnosed with stage IV lunge cancer.
First part of the book mainly touches his training as a neurosurgeon and sheds some light on the doctor-patient relationship. Although a bit complex to read if you’re not familiar with the (English) medical terms, it still got to me and I’m thrilled to read the second part, which is the part after he received the diagnosis.
Thanks for reading this week! Which article did you like the most? Let me know!
Until next time,
